My company is vat registered in the income statement should i exlude the vat from the expenses and sales. This seems quite clear at paras 17 24 with defn of receipts s106a and para 26 31 s94b with defn of payments. Exlude or include vat in income statement.

My reading of the guidance notes on the simpler income tax cash basis rules are that you have to include figures receipts or payments inclusive of vat and also include as receipts payments the vat repayment payment.

Does the income statement include vat. Does vat will be included in the income statement. It has no bearing on your income profit etc. Vat is just a tax that you collect for govrnment. If it is not recoverable by the business as input tax it is an expense that increases the cost of the inputs to the business and so must be included in the income cost statement.
